The Paphos International Sailing Club Social Secretary is in charge of social events. These are many and varied, some are at the
clubhouse, some are at external venues (such as Hotels), whilst others may be combined with outdoor or on the water events such
as the Manijin Cove BBQ's where some PISC members sail to as opposed to drive to.
Certain club events are restricted to PISC members, some are members and guests, and a few are open to anybody interested to just come along and meet new friends. Some of the events are ticketed and numbers are limited (particularly the evening cruises) whilst others (such as the quiz nights) do not require booking or advance tickets purchasing. As an event draws nearer and its precise details are known, a poster will be produced that will be displayed in the clubhouse and on the PISC website. This diary section changes frequently and sometimes dates have to change so it is a good idea to check back with this page on a regular basis. Tickets are generally purchased from the Social Secretary however, the poster will show who, how and where the tickets can be purchased. Some of the events become quickly over subscribed, in these cases it is important to purchase the tickets well in advance. As a general rule, the tickets and poster are produced at the same time, consequently, as soon as the poster is displayed in the clubhouse or on the website, the tickets will be available. Besides the PISC social events, the club is normally open every Tuesday evening and Friday lunchtimes where anybody (i.e. non members) can come along and have lunch or dinner, have a chat, see what we are all about and maybe even become a member. Paphos International Sailing Club own quite a few dinghy's and club members generally get together on Saturdays at the Coral Beach Hotel to have some dinghy sailing fun. When Cyprus sailing regattas are drawing close, we usually get together on Thursday lunchtimes for sail racing practice and training. During the cold January-March, dinghy work group volunteers get together and maintain the club fleet. |
